The Unit

The Unit is a comic that discusses the ways to protect ourselves against air pollution from forest fire smoke. As the rate of forest fires increases with each passing summer, families across Canada are more likely to be exposed to dangerous levels of smoke.

Families like Zoe, her brother Garret, their Naaáhsa (Grandmother) Rose, and Izzy, their dog can be affected. Poor air quality is no joke. It can have a serious impact on one’s health. One summer morning, thick smoke from a forest fire travels through their region and Naaáhsa Rose quickly falls ill. With their mother away on a business trip, the responsibility now falls to Zoe and Garret to keep their family unit safe.
